(more) Interesting shit

A few interesting articles I've found of late:

-Cubicles, in original theory, weren't meant to keep office life boring
-The greatest manhunt of WWII (heard on NPR)
-A history of British stereotypes about the French
-How sweatshop inspectors work
-The history of the Indians' ill-fated 10-cent beer night
-Why Americans only care about three sports

EDIT: Also, in light of my recent hockey-watching binge (Wings win, Osgood is sweet), I'm glad that this domain name exists:

That 10-cent Beer Night story is probably the funniest thing I've read in a month (and I get to read the paper copy of The Onion up here weekly). There are too many quotables to list here (damn the writer is superb!) but I'll repeat this one:

"Martin said, 'It seemed that he might be destroyed.'

For someone who had just escaped destruction, Burroughs kept his calm."
