Last week I was a juror in the trial of a man accused of selling a $10 bag of heroin to an undercover police officer. At the end of the two days of testimony, I concluded that the defendant was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. I also concluded that he should be acquitted.

What a great grouping of links...and way to start it out with a bang.
Not since the Spatstache has my interest in spats been so high. Gimmick or not I'm enamored.
Also, on further review, it looks like the Blanski thing isn't an elaborate parody.
I was actually afraid to open that at work when I saw it in the hopper. I thought it could be some weird fetish one of you has started.

Also, on banishing: I had a case where a guy who tried to bomb or threatened to bomb the courthouse was banned from the county, and the judge was very careful to explain that the county included the airport and the interstate. Interestingly, though, in Ga. law you can get exiled from a county, but not from all the counties at the same time. I have no idea why, but imagine there was once a county down in south Ga. full of banned men who didn't want to leave the state.
The banishment punishment reminds me of a case in Richmond recently. A slumlord was sentenced to spend home incarceration in one of his shitty unkempt houses. (Story
