The Beauty of Maps

Ran across this a couple of days ago while rummaging through my overflowing Google Reader. There is some repetition in this series, but overall it was pretty interesting, especially the comic maps explored in the fourth part of the series.

Fascinating.
By the way, has anyone run across a good map of the moon lately? I've developed an interest in the history of moon landings and the moon (as a destination) in general.
Also...is that the music from "Beauty and the Beast" at the beginning of the video? It's at least pretty close.

This is really interesting. Been reading a decent amount this semester about the way that maps become national symbols tied up in national identity.
