My song goes out to the cop who followed me home right before I posted this. His sirens were off the whole time but he was riding my ass the entire length of Keller Drive, and even when I turned onto my little side street. Once I turned into my driveway he sped up, turned into the driveway of the next building and sped out of our little apartment complex lickety split.

If I had his badge number, I would send him a copy of a CD that had this Bottle Rockets song over and over again.

First thought: "What they hell is this Radar Gun song?"

Next: Yes, POTUSA is the band of the moment for me right now. Their first album makes me a little grumpy at how sterile Wikipedia can be.

Love the "Golden Sea." I'm likewise into that sorta stuff right now. Which for some odd reason reminds me of the noisy, somewhat droning Guided By Voices that played in the coffee shop this Sunday morning.

When the Ettes came on, I started to think this is the perfect mix and stopped writing this comment.

Bottle Rockets are a somewhat ridiculous (but also rockin') alt country band from St. Louis who are buddies with Wilco. I'd recommend their album "The Brooklyn Side" but I have a feeling that those who dislike any semblance of The Drive By Truckers will hate it.
